Label Printing Solutions and Applications for the Photovoltaic Industry

01. Customer Type:
A photovoltaic power generation base in Chuzhou City.

02. Customer Challenges:
During the lamination process, the labels on the photovoltaic panel frames need to withstand approximately 50 MPa of pressure and temperatures ranging from 150 to 170°C for a duration of 20-25 minutes. The previously used ribbon products caused the label information to melt and detach during lamination, significantly impacting the clarity of the labels. Additionally, labels printed with wax-resin ribbons from other brands for energy storage batteries often suffered from unclear printing and color fading.

03. Customer Requirements:
The labels on the photovoltaic panel frames require a black ribbon that can endure high pressure and high temperatures during the lamination process. For the energy storage batteries, the labels need a black ribbon that can print clearly on matte silver PET labels, with excellent media compatibility and scratch resistance.

04. Solution:
Todaytec's product manager recommended the TDR345 ribbon for printing the labels on photovoltaic panel frames. Its outstanding print quality, superior media compatibility, and excellent corrosion resistance solved the issues encountered during the lamination process. Additionally, the TDR320 ribbon was recommended for printing labels on energy storage batteries. The TDR320, an economical resin ribbon, met the customer's needs with its exceptional media transferability (fully transferable on coated paper), superior scratch resistance, and excellent water and UV resistance.

05. Customer Feedback:
The customer successfully applied these two ribbons to their photovoltaic equipment, enabling them to meet critical information management and product identification needs in the PV industry.
